<正> EXPLANATION1. The observations of sudden ionospheric disturbances (SID) arc conducted by monitoring the changes of phase and amplitude of the one-hop sky-wave signals coming from the LF 100kc transmitting stations. When thesudden disturbances take place in the lower ionosphere, the phase and amplitude of the LF skywave signals reflected from the ionosphere appear tochange abruptly.
